Terms & Conditions

Last updated: June 2026

These terms apply to every order you place with Parkstone Fisheries Ltd through this website, by phone or in store. Please read them before ordering. By placing an order you confirm that you accept these terms and that you are at least 18 years old. We may update these terms from time to time; the version that applies to your order is the one published when you place it.

1. About Us

Parkstone Fisheries Ltd (Company No. 07044249) is a fishmonger registered at 12 Bournemouth Road, Poole, Dorset BH14 0ES. You can reach us on 01202 747661 or at info@parkstonefisheries.net. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Parkstone Fisheries Ltd, and "you" means the person placing the order.

2. Placing an Order

Browsing our shop and adding items to your basket does not create a contract. When you complete checkout and pay, you are making an offer to buy the products in your basket on these terms. You are responsible for checking that your order, chosen preparation options, delivery or collection date and contact details are correct before submitting. Where you ask us to prepare fish a particular way (for example filleting, descaling, gutting, pin-boning or portioning), we will prepare it to your reasonable instructions; preparation reduces the finished weight and cannot be reversed.

3. Order Acceptance & Your Contract

Your payment is taken at the point you place your order through our secure payment provider (see section 5). Taking payment does not by itself form a contract. A binding contract is formed only when we confirm that we have accepted your order. We review every order before preparing it. If we cannot fulfil all or part of your order (for example an item is unavailable, your address falls outside our delivery area, your chosen date cannot be met, or we identify a pricing error) we will contact you and refund the affected amount in full. We may also decline or cancel an order where we reasonably suspect fraud or a breach of these terms.

4. Our Products

Fish and seafood are natural products. Sizes, weights, colour and exact appearance vary, and any weights shown are approximate guides. The price you pay is for the item and preparation described. Where a specific catch is unavailable on the day, we may contact you to offer a comparable substitute or a refund for that item. Product images are illustrative.

5. Prices, VAT & Payment

All prices are in pounds sterling (GBP). Most fresh fish and seafood is zero-rated for VAT; certain prepared, cooked or specialist items may be standard-rated, and the price shown at checkout includes any VAT due. The price that applies to your order is the price displayed at checkout when you pay.

Payment is made online by debit or credit card (and supported digital wallets) at checkout, and is taken when you place your order. Card payments are processed securely by Stripe; your full card details are entered directly with Stripe and are never stored on or seen by our servers. If your payment is not authorised, your order will not be placed.

6. Delivery

We deliver to all BH postcodes by refrigerated vehicle. Delivery is free, subject to a minimum order value of £40. Deliveries are made Tuesday to Saturday. Orders placed before 3pm can usually be delivered the next available delivery day, and online orders can be booked up to 5 days ahead; orders placed after the cut-off, or for dates we cannot meet, will be scheduled for the next available day. We will deliver to the address you provide on the delivery date you select. Someone should be available to receive the order, as our products are chilled and perishable. If no one is available and you have not given safe-place instructions, we may be unable to leave the order, and a re-delivery may need to be arranged. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery (or on collection).

7. Collection

You may choose to collect your order from our counter at 12 Bournemouth Road, Poole BH14 0ES. There is no minimum order value for collection. Collection is available during our opening hours (Tue-Fri 7:30am-4pm · Sat 7:30am-3pm; closed Sunday and Monday) on the date you select at checkout. Please have your order confirmation available when you collect.

8. Freshness, Storage & Allergens

Our products are fresh and highly perishable. Please refrigerate them immediately on receipt, keep them chilled, and eat or freeze them promptly. We recommend consuming fresh fish within one to two days of delivery unless advised otherwise. We are not responsible for deterioration caused by products not being stored or handled correctly after delivery or collection.

Our products contain fish and shellfish, and are handled in premises where other allergens are present, so cross-contamination cannot be ruled out. If you have a food allergy or specific dietary requirement, please call us on 01202 747661 before ordering so we can advise.

9. Changing or Cancelling Your Order

You can change or cancel an order up to 3pm on the day before your delivery or collection date by calling us on 01202 747661. Seafood platters and large or bespoke orders require at least 48 hours' notice to cancel, as preparation begins ahead of time. Where you cancel within these windows, we will refund you in full.

Because fresh fish and seafood are perishable goods that deteriorate rapidly, they are exempt from the 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. This does not affect your rights where goods are faulty or not as described (see section 10).

10. Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Orders

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the products we supply must be of satisfactory quality, as described, and fit for purpose, and it is our responsibility to get them to you in good condition. If any item arrives damaged, is not as described, or is not of satisfactory quality, please contact us within 24 hours of delivery or collection at info@parkstonefisheries.net or on 01202 747661, with a photograph where possible. We ask you to report quickly because of the perishable nature of the goods. Where an item is faulty, we will provide a replacement or a refund for that item. Refunds are made to your original payment method, normally within 5-10 working days. Nothing in these terms reduces your statutory rights.

11. Liability

Our total liability to you in connection with an order is limited to the value of that order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.

12. Privacy

We handle your personal data in line with our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect, how we use it, and the processors (including our payment provider) we rely on to fulfil your order.

13. Governing Law

These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the law of England and Wales and are subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
