Delivering to Ringwood
We deliver to all Ringwood postcodes (BH24) by refrigerated vehicle, Tuesday to Saturday. Free delivery, £40 minimum order.
Ringwood is a thriving market town on the western edge of the New Forest, known for its Wednesday market and independent spirit. Though it sits on the Hampshire border, Ringwood falls within our BH delivery area, making it easy to enjoy properly fresh fish without the long drive to the coast.
Serving the streets around Ringwood Brewery, The Furlong Shopping Centre, Avon Valley, New Forest National Park.
Fresh Off the Boat
Day-boat and locally landed wherever the catch allows, sourced each morning and never frozen-then-thawed. The same fish that fills our Parkstone counter goes into every Ringwood order.
Prepared to Order, Your Way
Filleted, descaled, pin-boned, skinned or portioned exactly how you ask, by hand, by people who do it all day. Tell us how you're cooking it and we'll prepare it to match.
Chilled to Your Door
Delivered across Ringwood in our own refrigerated van, not by a courier or the post. Free on orders over £40, Tuesday to Saturday, arriving as fresh as the counter.

A market town that has always shopped this way
Wednesday in Ringwood still means the Market Place fills with stalls. The town has held a charter market for the best part of eight centuries, and you can feel it in the way people here buy: they want to know where a thing came from, who handled it, and whether it’s any good before they part with money. Provenance isn’t a marketing word in this town. It’s a Wednesday habit.
That habit suits us. We have stood behind the same counter on Bournemouth Road in Poole since the 1920s, and a hundred years on we still trade the way the Market Place does: fish on ice, a fishmonger who can tell you what landed and what to do with it, no shrink-wrap between you and the catch. The only stretch is the geography. Ringwood sits just over the Hampshire line, fifteen-odd miles north of us at the western edge of the New Forest, where the River Avon comes down through the valley. So we close that gap with a van.
The cross-county run, in our own refrigerated van
Most of Ringwood is a fair drive from any proper fish counter. The Furlong has its draws and the independents along the High Street are worth a wander, but a dedicated fishmonger is not among them. That is the gap our van exists to close.
Not everyone can spare the morning to drive to the coast and back. That’s why we deliver in our own refrigerated vehicle, not a courier, not an overnight box left on a step in July. One of our team drives it, the fish stays cold the whole way, and it reaches your kitchen in Hightown or Poulner in the same state it left the ice in Poole. We run deliveries Tuesday to Saturday across the whole of BH24. Order by 3pm and we’ll bring it on the next available day. Delivery is free over a £40 minimum, which a household weekend shop clears without trying.
If you happen to be coming our way down the A31, as plenty of Ringwood folk do, collection from the counter is free with no minimum at all. Pick your fish, watch it cut, take it home.
River cooks and the Avon table
There’s a strong river culture here. The Avon is one of the country’s great chalk streams, and Ringwood has long been a fly-fishing town: people who understand a fish on a slab because they’ve held one on a line. That kind of cook doesn’t need much persuading about freshness. They can see it in the eye and the gill.
For the table, the fresh fish counter is where most Ringwood orders begin. Day-boat and locally landed where the weather allows, filleted or left whole, prepared however you like: descaled, gutted, pin-boned, skinned. A whole fish baked with herbs from the garden suits an Avon Valley kitchen as well as a trout off the river does.
Summer at the grill
When the weather turns, Ringwood cooks outdoors. The edge of the Forest is made for it. Whole fish over coals is the easiest showpiece there is, and our smoked salmon, cured and smoked in our own smokehouse over locally sourced wood chippings, with nothing added but salt and smoke, makes a cold plate for a warm evening with almost no work. Add a few king prawns to skewer and a bag of shellfish to throw on, and the grill does the rest. The seasonal calendar will tell you what’s at its peak before you plan the weekend.
Sunday cooking and having people over
A market town that values a proper counter tends to take Sunday seriously too. For a roast of fish rather than meat, a side of salmon feeds a table and carves like a joint. For comfort on a cold Forest evening, the makings of a fish pie turn into supper for the family without ceremony: white fish, a piece of our own smoked haddock, and a handful of prawns, all in one bag. We make our pâté on the premises as well, which earns its keep on a cheeseboard or as a starter when you’ve people round.
If the freezer is your friend for a busy week, the frozen range and the breaded and coated portions keep a fish supper within reach on the nights nobody wants to think. And for something already done for you, the marinated deli counter carries kebabs and dressed pieces that go straight under the grill.
After a Ringwood Brewery beer at the Furlong end of a Saturday, few things beat a plate of fish you cooked yourself. A little planning is all it takes. Browse the whole shop, pick out a recipe from the recipe pages, and read what we’ve written over on the blog about choosing and storing fish at home.
Poulner, St Leonards and out to the Forest edge
BH24 runs from the Market Place through Hightown and Poulner, out past St Leonards and Ashley Heath, and up against the National Park boundary. We cover all of it. If your address sits anywhere between the Avon and the edge of the Forest, you’re on the run, and the only question is what’s for dinner. Place your order before 3pm for the next available day, or call the counter on 01202 747661 and we’ll talk you through what’s good this week.
What People Say
Rated 4.7 by 205+ Customers
Always quality produce and great customer service.
I am a Private Chef and I love going into Parkstone Fisheries! The fish is of outstanding quality, mostly local and dayboat caught. The knowledge the whole team have is second to none. And if you want the bones for stock...probably best not get one that Jason has filleted as it will JUST be bones. Looking forward to going in there for many years to come!
We were so impressed with our first visit to Parkstone Fisheries. We received a very friendly welcome and advice on the fish they supply. We look forward to cooking the plaice tonight and the smoked haddock tomorrow. We're very pleased to know they smoke the fish themselves. We'll definitely visit again. It's sad that so many fishmongers have closed but we're grateful to have such a high quality shop near where we live.
