Raw or cooked?: Raw prawns are grey and turn pink when they're cooked through, a few minutes in a hot pan. Cooked prawns are already pink and ready to eat.
Whole or peeled?: Whole prawns have the head and shell on: more flavour, a bit more work. Peeled are ready to cook.
What do the numbers mean?: "16/20" means 16 to 20 prawns in a kilo. The smaller the number, the bigger the prawn.

About our whole raw king prawns

Whole raw king prawns, frozen with the shell and head on for the most flavour. Choose farmed king prawns from Ecuador, sold in a 1kg box of around 25, or wild sea caught black tiger prawns from Africa, sold by the kilo in two sizes: 10/15 to the kilo, or the really big ones at 4/5 to the kilo. They turn pink, sweet and juicy in a couple of minutes, so they are perfect for the barbecue, a garlic and chilli pan or a curry.
