Closer to the water than anyone

Marine provisioning, done properly

Our shop is situated on Bournemouth Road in Ashley Cross, a few hundred metres from the water and closer to the harbour than any other proper fishmonger in the area. That matters when you're provisioning a yacht. The fish you take aboard left our counter the same morning, kept cold in our own refrigerated van the entire way to your berth. No depots, no couriers, no doorstep guesswork, just a short, cold journey from counter to galley.

We work the way the water works: short notice, exact specifications, and a phone you can actually get answered. Whether you're a private owner heading out for the weekend, a skipper stocking for a charter week, or crew on a visiting superyacht in Port of Poole, you get the same thing: the best of the south coast catch, prepared how you want it, delivered when you need it.

"Tell us the boat, the berth and roughly who you're feeding. We'll handle the rest."

Marinas & moorings we deliver to

We provision boats right across Poole Harbour, one of the largest natural harbours in the world, and out to the Solent. If your berth is on the water near Poole, we can reach it.

  • Parkstone Bay Marina
  • Salterns Marina
  • Poole Quay Boat Haven
  • Port of Poole Marina
  • Cobbs Quay Marina
  • Lake Yard
  • Parkstone Yacht Club
  • Poole Yacht Club
  • Royal Motor Yacht Club

Plus private moorings, the harbour islands, and waterside homes across Sandbanks and Canford Cliffs. Crossing the water? We regularly provision owners at Lymington and Yarmouth too.

Whatever the south coast is landing

What we put aboard

Rarely a couple of cod fillets. A provisioning box looks like live lobster, scallops in the shell, oysters on ice, whole fish for the grill, and a dressed platter ready to serve on deck.

Shellfish

Live or cooked lobster, hand-dived scallops, dressed crab, langoustines, mussels and clams.

Oysters

Native and Pacific, shucked to order, or supplied whole with a knife.

Whole Fish

Bass, bream, mackerel, Dover sole and turbot, gutted and scaled, ready for the grill or barbecue.

Smoked & Cured

Smoked salmon sides, smoked mackerel and kiln-roasted fillets that keep well at sea.

Platters

Dressed seafood platters and grazing boards built for entertaining aboard. 48 hours’ notice.

Prawns & Deli

King prawns, marinated seafood, anchovies and deli pieces for quick galley dishes.

Everything's prepared at the counter exactly how you want it: filleted, pin-boned, skinned, portioned, or left whole. For longer passages we'll vacuum-pack individual portions so they keep and stack neatly. Not sure what's best today? Check what's in season or let Steve build the order around the catch.

How it works

Provisioning is a conversation, not a checkout. Three steps and you're stocked.

  1. 1 · Call or email

Ring Steve on 01202 747661 or email with what you're after and when you sail. 24 hours' notice for everyday orders; 48-72 for whole fish, live lobster or a full charter provision.

  2. 2 · We prep to spec

Bought fresh and prepared at the counter the morning of delivery: filleted, portioned, vacuum-packed, whatever the trip calls for.

  3. 3 · Delivered to the berth

Our refrigerated van brings it to the marina or pontoon, cold and on time, handed to crew or left with the office. Your call.

Yacht provisioning FAQs

Do you deliver fresh fish directly to the marina or boat?

Yes. We deliver to every marina and quay in Poole Harbour (Parkstone Bay, Salterns, Poole Quay Boat Haven, Port of Poole, Cobbs Quay and Lake Yard) in our own refrigerated van. We can hand your order to a crew member at the berth, leave it with the marina office, or coordinate dockside with your skipper. Tell us the berth and the time and we will be there.

How much notice do you need for a provisioning order?

For everyday provisioning (fillets, shellfish, a few platters), 24 hours is plenty. For larger passages, charter weeks, or anything needing whole fish, live lobster or volume shellfish, give us 48 to 72 hours so we can buy it in specifically for you. Same-day is sometimes possible if you call early; speak to Steve on 01202 747661.

Can you vacuum-pack or portion fish for longer passages?

Yes. We prepare everything to your spec at the counter: filleted, pin-boned, skinned, portioned, or left whole. For boats heading offshore we can vacuum-pack individual portions so they keep longer and stack neatly in a galley fridge or freezer. Tell us how long you are at sea and we will pack accordingly.

Is there a minimum order for yacht provisioning?

Yes, the same £40 minimum as the rest of our online shop applies, because berth delivery is ordered through the website and then delivered free to your berth above that. Whether it is a single side of smoked salmon for a weekend on the water or a full charter provision, add it to the basket and choose Berth Delivery at checkout, or call Steve to build something bespoke.

Can you provision discreetly for private and charter clients?

Of course. We supply private owners, skippers, and charter crews across Poole Harbour and the Solent and understand the job calls for discretion and reliability. No fuss, no markup games, just the best of the south coast catch, delivered to the vessel on time.
