Delivering to New Forest
We deliver to New Forest addresses within BH postcodes as part of our regular service. For SO postcode areas (Lyndhurst, Brockenhurst, etc.), please contact us on 01202 747661 to arrange delivery.
The New Forest is one of England's great national parks: 220 square miles of ancient woodland, open heathland, and picture-postcard villages. Despite its size and population, the Forest has very few dedicated fishmongers. Parkstone Fisheries serves the southern and western edges of the Forest, bringing counter-fresh quality to a region that deserves it.
Serving the streets around New Forest National Park, Brockenhurst Village, Lyndhurst High Street, Beaulieu Motor Museum, Bolderwood.
Fresh Off the Boat
Day-boat and locally landed wherever the catch allows, sourced each morning and never frozen-then-thawed. The same fish that fills our Parkstone counter goes into every New Forest order.
Prepared to Order, Your Way
Filleted, descaled, pin-boned, skinned or portioned exactly how you ask, by hand, by people who do it all day. Tell us how you're cooking it and we'll prepare it to match.
Chilled to Your Door
Delivered across New Forest in our own refrigerated van, not by a courier or the post. Free on orders over £40, Tuesday to Saturday, arriving as fresh as the counter.

Where the Ponies Have Right of Way
There is no single high street to point at here. The Forest is a scatter of villages stitched together by open heath: Brockenhurst and Lyndhurst, Burley up on its rise, Sway with its tower, Beaulieu down by the river. Ponies wander the lanes and the verges as if the cars are the visitors, which, most weeks, they are. It is a beautiful place to live and a long way from a fish counter. Drive in any direction and you will pass a country pub before you pass a fishmonger.
That gap is the whole reason this page exists. For a hundred years our counter has sat in Parkstone, on the coast, where the boats land. Getting that fish out to a cottage in the trees takes a van and a plan, and we have both.
How Far Into the Forest We Reach
The Forest sprawls across two different postcode worlds, and we are honest about where our regular round stops. Read this part properly before you order; it saves a phone call.
The BH villages: our standard round
The western edge sits inside BH postcodes, and those addresses ride our normal Tuesday-to-Saturday service. Ringwood on the Avon (BH24) and New Milton near the coast (BH25) are regular stops, along with the smaller places that share those postcodes. Order by 3pm and your fish comes the next available day. Delivery is free, the minimum order is £40, and nothing about it differs from ordering down in Poole.
Deeper Forest: by arrangement
Push further in and you cross into SO postcodes: Lyndhurst, Brockenhurst, Beaulieu, Burley, and Lymington over toward the water (SO41 to SO43). These sit beyond our everyday round, so we run them on selected days rather than daily. Call 01202 747661 and we will fix the best delivery day for your lane. The £40 minimum still applies, and the fish is no less fresh for the extra miles. It travels chilled in our own van either way.
Boots Off, Supper On
A Forest day has a shape to it. Out across Bolderwood or the heath above Burley in the morning, mud to the knees by lunch, and by dusk the only real question is what is for dinner. We are built for that last part. A thick cut from the fresh fish counter turns into proper fish and chips with the fire going. A side of our own smoked salmon does the work when friends turn up unannounced. And the frozen range earns its place in a rural freezer. Stock up on a delivery day and you are never caught short between rounds, which matters when the nearest shop is a drive away.
We smoke that salmon ourselves and make our pâté on site, so the cold-smoke board you put out on a Friday came off our own racks, not a wholesaler’s pallet. If you would rather cook by the season than against it, the seasonal calendar tells you what is landing well right now.
Cooking for a Full House
Forest kitchens tend to run big. Old farmhouse ranges, an Aga ticking over in the corner, a long table that fills up at weekends with family and walkers and whoever stayed the night. That suits the way we sell. Buy a whole side of fish for a crowd, or a seafood platter to set down in the middle and let everyone help themselves. For the equestrian and farming households who keep odd hours, a frozen standby and a couple of breaded portions mean a hot plate is always ten minutes away, even after evening stables.
If you want ideas to go with the fish, our recipes are written for ordinary hobs and ordinary time. Nothing that needs three pans and a sous-chef. Each one points back to the right cut in the shop, so you can read it and order it in the same sitting.
Holiday Lets and Changeover Day
A good slice of the Forest is second homes and holiday cottages, and changeover day is its own small operation. New guests arriving, the place to flip, and a welcome that wants to feel better than a kettle and a tin of biscuits. We work with owners and managers on exactly that. A smoked salmon and shellfish board for arrival night. A platter sized for the party. A week’s worth from the fresh fish counter timed to your delivery day so guests cook from the coast all week. Give us 48 hours for a platter; the regular range comes next-day on your scheduled round. It is a small touch that reads as a generous one, and it costs less than people assume.
Why It Comes by Our Own Van
From the middle of the Forest, a fishmonger is a long drive away, so the van comes to you instead. Every order goes out in our own refrigerated vehicle, packed cold at the counter and driven straight to your village: no depot, no overnight parcel network, no box left warming on a step. Fifteen miles of forest lane later it reaches your kitchen as cold and firm as it was on the ice that morning, which over a distance like that is a promise worth making out loud.
And if you are passing the coast anyway, heading down to Poole or the harbour for the day, collection from our Parkstone counter is free with no minimum at all. We are open Tuesday to Friday 7:30am to 4pm and Saturday until 3pm, closed Sunday and Monday. A hundred years in, day-boat and locally landed where we can get it, and a 4.7 rating from the people who keep coming back. Bring the Forest a bit of the coast. Start in the shop, or ring 01202 747661 and we will sort your village out.
What People Say
Rated 4.7 by 205+ Customers
Always quality produce and great customer service.
I am a Private Chef and I love going into Parkstone Fisheries! The fish is of outstanding quality, mostly local and dayboat caught. The knowledge the whole team have is second to none. And if you want the bones for stock...probably best not get one that Jason has filleted as it will JUST be bones. Looking forward to going in there for many years to come!
We were so impressed with our first visit to Parkstone Fisheries. We received a very friendly welcome and advice on the fish they supply. We look forward to cooking the plaice tonight and the smoked haddock tomorrow. We're very pleased to know they smoke the fish themselves. We'll definitely visit again. It's sad that so many fishmongers have closed but we're grateful to have such a high quality shop near where we live.
